D'Banj dominates at Channel O Music Video Awards

Dbanj's Oliver Twist Performance at Channel O Awards 2012

Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown is known as the home of the Freedom Charter, but on Saturday it played
host to some of Africa's best music talents.

Soweto came alive inside a dome which was built at the square especially for the 9th annual Channel O Music Video Awards and was broadcast live to 53 countries.

Hosted by South African media personality, Bonang Matheba and Nigerian artist Ice Prince, the show kicked off with a performance by Soweto's very own PRO.

Others performers included SA's Khuli Chana, Mi Casa, DJ Zinhle, Botswana rapper Zues, Nigeria's Mo Cheddah and this year's Special Recognition recipient Oskido.

Nigerian and now international star D'Banj stole the show with a performance of his hit song Oliver Twist.

D'Banj also received two awards for Oliver Twist - Most Gifted Male Video and Most Gifted Video of the Year.
